Super Superbowl??

Super super Bowl?
I'm glad I stayed home in my pj's. Turned out to be a boring superbowl- even the commercials were a disappointment. I enjoyed two- the Doritos Dogs and the snickers Marilyn Monroe commercial. Both cracked me up. Half time was ok. Reminded me of a 60's redo with all the flowers. Not too original but very colorful and pretty to see on tv. I love Coldplay and could listen to them all day. Seeing Astronaut Kelly throw a football while weightless was also fun for me. He was on the Colbert show. So much fuss over a football game. All to see some pizza and beer. Well, this is America. And speaking of this great country, you know we have a lot of voracious reader of romance novels? Seems someone noticed and made a documentary about our industry. It's called Love Between the Covers. Here's the information from my chapter's website : http://www.duelingmodems.com/~cnyrw/events/index.html.  Finally- thank you!
Congratulations to the 50th Superbowl Cahampions Denver Broncos and Peyton Manning. Onto NASCAR!!!!

Back to blogging!!

Hello friends and fellow bookworms- It's been a while since I've blogged. I have lots of news:
1. I've lost over 100 pounds and kept it off for five years. A miracle that has totally changed my life in a wonderful way. I am healthier than I've ever been in my entire life. I was borderline diabetes, high triglycerides and cholesterol and I had a BMI of 42. At five feet three inches tall all that weight was killing me, not to mention all the aches and pains and discomforts.  In this return-to-blogging I hope to talk about weight loss more. I'm not an expert, but I've come to understand that what I've gone through can help those considering the same path- surgery.

2. My second bit of news is that I'm writing again. I'm working on several projects, but the first draft to be finished is a novella called, "My Marine."  It's about an older woman's encounters a younger marine while visiting Parris Island in Beaufort, South Carolina, home of the U.S. Marine Corp recruiters' boot camp. many thanks to my wonderful friends at CNYRW who've encouraged me, especially Nona Raines and ALee Drake. They've been busy writing since my hiatus. Nona has a new book out,  No Promises, and ALee published her second contempory romance last year, Men in Ts. So happy for them.

3.I'm invited to a book signing at Liverpool Library on Saturday, February 27, with other fellow Central New York Romance Writers,  following the library's presentation of the documentary, Love Between the Covers.  http://www.duelingmodems.com/~cnyrw/events/index.html  It's a story about our powerhouse industry and some of the individuals that write romance are featured. See our website for more details. I have several copies of Meltdown, which is still available at my publisher, the Wild Rose Press, and other booksellers online. I've very excited about this opportunity. I hope you can stop by.http://www.duelingmodems.com/~cnyrw/events/index.html
